To our 7 Day Kiwi Crusaders

Welcome to the 2nd running of the Kiwi Crusade stage race. We have spent many months discovering and putting together a scenic and challenging route that will leave fond memories. We have the support of the locals throughout the Whakatane, Opotoki and Motu area’s where our race villages will be filled with their warm and friendly welcome.

Race briefing will take place on Saturday 18 February at Memorial Park Whakatane (TBC). Registration will from 2:00pm – 5pm with race briefing from 5pm – 5:30pm. Drinks and food will be available to order. This is also where stage 1 will start on Monday 20th February and finish on Saturday 25 February.

At registration you will receive your race bags, number boards and goodies. Race briefing will explain how to get to the prologue at Ohope and the start time on Sunday morning.

For those of you who have forgotten something, Whakatane Great Outdoors will have great discounts especially for Kiwi Crusaders and supply most of what you will need.

There are 2 bike shops available in Whakatane for any last minute fixes or spares.  We will carry some spares for basic repairs in the remote race villages.

There are still spaces available for the massage package, which we highly recommend, Gill Williams with her 2 masseurs accompanied us on the 1st Kiwi Crusade and has many years experience on the ABSA Cape Epic and guarantee professional service. Please click on the massage package under services to book for massage.

For our international entrants, please ensure your bikes are professionally washed before flying into AKL, or MAF may charge to clean your bike for you ($250). The sun/UV in NZ is harsh so ensure you bring good factor sunblock. Do not bring nutrition with you, it will be confiscated at customs and you may be fined if its not declared.

We have spent many months discovering and putting together a scenic and challenging route and you will be enjoying the last 3 spectacular and slightly easier days that will leave fond memories.
